What inspired me to teach?

I grew up competitively dancing and continued to do so until age 21.  I graduated from the U of S in 2008, and found something was missing in my new “adult’ life.  I actually attended one of Kelly’s Zumba classes, fell in love with the style and knew that was going to be my next step for my fitness to continue on.  I found Zumba was a nice fit between my dancing background and my newly acquired knowledge from my Kinesiology degree.  After entering the world of teaching, my curiosity began to grow and I continued taking more trainings.

What inspired me to teach?

I love working with kids and the little experience I have assisting dance before this was always so much fun! I’ve been looking for a way to get up and moving more, and this seems like a really awesome community to get involved with!

Why do I teach?

I’ve spent a lot of time working with kids and I find it so rewarding! It’s hard work but the highs far outweigh the lows for me. Being in dance growing up, I learned so much more than just how to do the steps. I learned a lot about my own physical limits but I also learned to be brave enough to try new things, and how to pick myself back up when I fall. I want to be a part of helping kids learn those things and so many other awesome things you learn when you take a dance class. I’ve been missing dance so much lately and I can’t wait to be a part of it again!

What do I teach?

Ballet Jazz combo and I’ll also be a part of summer camps!
